ABEMEC, a specialist in tailor-made mechanization for the agricultural sector, noticed that its sales team was spending a disproportionate amount of time selling relatively small machines – think of equipment up to around €10,000. Questions about prices, versions, specifications, and availability kept pouring in, putting pressure on the team’s efficiency.
The wish arose to make precisely this product group accessible online: a professional webshop where customers can easily find their way and either configure a machine or order directly.
ABEMEC enlisted Green Communication to guide this process from A to Z.
Green started with a strategic exploration of the options. We compared several platforms, such as Magento, Shopify, and Craft Commerce. Our analysis showed that Craft Commerce offered the perfect middle ground:
Based on these considerations, Green advised the use of Craft Commerce, to which ABEMEC agreed.
In close cooperation with ABEMEC, we inventoried the functional and visual requirements. Using Figma, Green developed an interactive design in which structure, filters, configuration options, and the ordering process were fully simulated. This allowed us to fine-tune exactly how users would experience the webshop.
Once ABEMEC approved the design, the webshop was built in Craft Commerce. The new website offers:
The webshop – machines.abemec.nl – is live, and the first orders are already coming in. For ABEMEC, this form of sales is relatively new and requires a shift in both thinking and doing. But the potential is immediately visible: fewer manual quotations, faster customer contact, and more overview.
Together with ABEMEC, Green is working on the next phase: optimizing conversion, deploying Google Shopping, and other online campaigns to maximize the return on this e-commerce solution.
With this webshop, ABEMEC has taken an important step towards digital sales power in agribusiness. Green remains involved in further development, technical support, and marketing efforts to ensure continuous webshop growth.
ABEMEC and Green. Building the future of agricultural sales together.
